WE OFFER PERMANENT AND TRANSITIONAL HOUSING

York County Shelter Programs owns/and or manages about 120 housing units in southern Maine.  We offer these affordable apartments to families and individuals who have been residents at the emergency shelters.

We want to help people live independently. Some of our residents who move into permanent housing will continue to receive supportive services from us on as-needed basis.

We were able to acquire the properties through loans from MaineHousing.  We have guidelines that we must meet in order to make these rentals available to formerly homeless shelter residents. All properties are substance-free, for example.

Our units are in Alfred, Springvale, Sanford, Biddeford, Kittery and Saco.

Rent Range: Rent is based on 30 percent of household adjusted income. It is subsidized by the federal agency Housing & Urban Development (HUD).

For information, call YCSP at (207) 324-1137 or email David Beseda at davidb@ycspi.org.
